Metabolic Stack: Clinical Analysis & Evidence
The following ergogenic aids and metabolic modulators are utilized to optimize the 3-Tier Wave protocol. Each is supported by clinical research documented via the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
I. The Performance & Power Engine

Creatine Monohydrate

-
The Rationale: Saturates phosphocreatine stores for ATP regeneration.
-
NIH Evidence: Research indicates that creatine is the most effective nutritional supplement currently available to athletes in terms of increasing high-intensity exercise capacity and lean body mass during training.

TMG (Betaine Anhydrous)

-
The Rationale: Acts as an osmolyte and methyl donor to support creatine synthesis.
-
NIH Evidence: Chronic betaine supplementation has been shown to improve body composition, arm size, and bench press work capacity in resistance-trained men.
-

II. Recovery & Hormonal Modulation

Protein Kinetics (Whey Isolate vs. Casein)

-
The Rationale: Optimizing the "Anabolic Window" and preventing nocturnal catabolism.
-
NIH Evidence: The "fast" (whey) and "slow" (casein) protein concept is well-supported; whey stimulates a rapid protein synthesis spike, while casein inhibits whole-body protein breakdown over a prolonged period.

TMG (Betaine Anhydrous)

-
The Rationale: Blunting the post-training ACTH and cortisol response.
-
NIH Evidence: Phosphatidylserine has been shown to be an effective supplement for combating exercise-induced stress and the physiological deterioration that accompanies overtraining.
-

III. Advanced Fueling & Thermogenics

Cluster Dextrin (Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin)

-
The Rationale: Rapid gastric emptying and sustained blood glucose.
-
NIH Evidence: HBCD significantly reduces the rate of perceived exertion (RPE) during exercise compared to glucose-based drinks, allowing for longer durations of high-intensity output.
-

Thermogenic Modulators (Caffeine & Rauwolscine)

-
The Rationale: Increasing metabolic rate and mobilizing free fatty acids.
-
NIH Evidence: Caffeine has been shown to increase metabolic rate by 3–11% and significantly increase fat oxidation during exercise.

IV. Mandatory Clinical Oversight

Established Standard of Care :
All ergogenic aids—specifically Diuretics, Thermogenics, and Hormonal Secretagogues—must be evaluated by a medical professional. Praxis Performance requires all clients to establish a metabolic baseline prior to initiation, followed by quarterly monitoring of comprehensive metabolic panels (CMP), lipid profiles, and hormonal markers (IGF-1, Testosterone, Cortisol) to ensure maximum physiological health and safety.
